City Hall

The building is currently used by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars as a meeting place but is in great need for improvements.  Inside of the building is usable but is lacking kitchen facilities which were once present and indoor restrooms.  A grant was recently made by MSDCF to the American Legion to stabilize the foundation.  Austin was dis-incorporated as a city in the late 1800's.

Hogan (Austin) Hotel

The former Hogan Hotel which burned in 1977 leaves only its original front entrance as evidence of its existence.  Of historical interest, but not a historic site, MSDCF is working towards its rebuilding as commercial space.

Fire Station

An early 1900's fire station near the corner of Cedar and Main Street is a candidate for restoration complete with fire engine. This is a long range project as the building is currently in use as a Youth Center.
