In preparing the presentation a series of depictions were drawn but the on that stood out the most was the logo used in the presentation.  It depicts the historic heritage of Austin, Stokes Castle, and Reuel C. Gridley along with the symbol for U. S. Highway 50, the original Lincoln Highway, and the banner citing the "Town of Austin", established 1862.

The Castle still stands, as if a guardpost, overlooking the entrance to Austin and the surrounding Reese River Valley, and the memory of Gridley, with his "Sanitary Fund" sack of flour lives on. Gridley raised some $275,000 for the benefit of those wounded and suffering the effects of the Civil War. The Sanitary Fund was a predecessor of the American Red Cross. Gridley's Store is still in existence on the East end of Austin and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.  A monument has been erected by the Grand Army of the Republic in the Rural Stockton Cemetary, where Gridley was buried, to honor him and his contribution to the war veterans.
